Peacock Feather Kissed with Gold
About The Artwork:
Years ago I made friends with the amazingly talented artist, Beth Behr Menczer of Glenwood, New Mexico. (If you get out that way be sure to stop into Behr Farm and Art Gallery and stay at her incredible AirB&B.)
Her sumptuous and relaxing property was a haven to many creatures in the past-emus, a donkey or two, chickens, horses, a parrot and peacocks galore! She would generously, (as is her way,) let me take as many feathers as I liked home to my daughters who were young at the time and thought I had brought them something incomparably exotic.
Inspired by the notion of the exotic joy my daughters felt I created this shape painting of a single, regal feather, accented with gold highlights. May it will bring a sense of the majestic into your lodgings.
